22-year-old DJ and producer Chris Kaye is a multi-talented artist who has wowed club goers all around Australia and gained the respect of his peers with his individual and distinctive blend of 'big room' house music.
Through his music skills and intense work ethic, Chris has risen from humble beginnings to become one of Australia's most recognised DJ's.
In 2003, when Chris began DJing, he almost immediately showed potential and promise, playing alongside Australia's best, and supporting worldwide names such as ATFC, Sandy Rivera and Jason Herd at the age of 16.
In 2005, after graduating from school, Chris, 18, embarked on a 16 month tour of Europe and the USA. With only two gigs confirmed and both of them scheduled for the first week, the plan was to start from scratch and aim to impress the right people early in the hope that the job offers would soon follow.
Sure enough, Chris was soon asked to play at some of the hottest nightclubs across Europe in cities such as London, Paris, Barcelona, Mykonos and Rome.
Early highlights of Chris' career include playing at the infamous 'Pacha' Nightclub in Ibiza alongside BBC RADIO 1 host Pete Tong and Deep Dish.
After touring heavily for 16 months, Chris returned to Australia with a sense of credibility behind the decks. Having exhausted all avenues in order to better himself as a DJ and producer, he found himself boasting experience well beyond his years.
2007 was more of a challenge as house music became less apparent as other genres in the dance music industry and club scene. However Chris remained true to what he was about as an artist, which resulted in playing more than 45 guest spots across Australia. Not to mention regular interviews and guest mixes on NOVA Australia and Radio FG in France, gaining an even bigger following and fan base. This led him to debut at No. 45 in Australia for the national In The Mix DJ Poll for 2007.
The year also saw Chris gain attention when he was photographed for Australia's leading newspaper "The Herald Sun" wearing a pair of diamond studded headphones, the first DJ in Australia to do so and only the third in the world, behind Axwell and Roger Sanchez.
Chris has followed his successes of 2007 and earlier years in 2008, calling this year his "year of production" and he is immediately showing potential, remixing for the likes of Jason Herd, Ben Macklin, Crazy Penis, Inaya Day and Soul Avengerz.
But the year isn't over for Chris, and he has put the remixes on hold to focus on his own original productions, which are sure to win over the crowds with what is becoming known as the 'Chris Kaye Big Room Sound,' a mixture of hands in the air funky bass lines, energetic rhythms and uplifting melodies.
